MS&I was borne of necessity.  Rather than simply acknowledge the tight association that is necessary between the architect and the builder, Steve Kleineman of SKD Architects developed MS&I Building Company.  Headed by Dan Mulrennan, MS&I specializes in high-end residential construction. 

As the initials for the three facets of a construction project—management, skill, and imagination—MS&I holds at its core the very concepts that are integral for any project to be a success, whether renovating an existing home or starting from a sketch on a napkin.
